ITP Studio Series: Black and White

Before launching into the full spectrum of color, stand at its edge with white and black, the beginning and the end of color. Black and white provide a frame through which we more clearly see and understand color. Side by side on paper, the contrast between black and white call each more fully to life.
— Ann Pelo, author of The Language of Art

Description:

Black and white can be stark or subtle, and always sophisticated. Spend the morning exploring these harmonious opposites, and many shades of gray, using a wide variety media and materials.

About the Presenter:

Inspired by the Reggio Approach, Susan Thayer joined GeoKids 11 years ago as a classroom teacher, and has worked with children aged 3 months through 6 years. She feels lucky to have found a profession that combines her interests in the arts, creative process, and advocacy for young children. Currently, Susan has a dual role, serving as Studio Educator and supporting GeoKids staff with curriculum development and professional growth.
