The Loris Malaguzzi International Center

The municipality, Reggio Children and educational institutions of Reggio Emilia, Italy opened the Loris Malaguzzi International Center for the Defense and Promotion of Rights and Potential for All Children in February 2006. The Center, based on the idea of Loris Malaguzzi provides the space for the international educational community to advocate for children's rights and to improve the widespread cultural poverty in educational systems. The Center creates opportunities to increase dialogue around the culture of childhood based on respecting each child's identity, rights and potential. Most importantly, it is a place that celebrates children—creative and free.

The center opened in February 2006 in honor of the late educational pioneer, Loris Malaguzzi.
